ライブラリcyvlfeatのインストールについて

Question

前提・実現したいこと

cyvlfeatをpipでインストールしなくてはいけない状況になり、以下サイトを参考にgithubからcyvlfeatをローカルにダウンロードして使おうと思ったのですが、リンクのサイトの「setup.py, cyvlfeat/init.pyの修正」で行っていることがよくわかりませんでした。

setup.pyとcyvlfeat/init.pyそれぞれにどのようなコードをどこに追加すればいいか教えていただきたいです。

提示サイトの該当部分を「パッチファイル」としてpatchコマンドで適用するか、テキストエディターを使って手作業で修正します。

行頭に「-」が1個付いている箇所が修正前(「-」そのものは含まれません)、行頭に「+」が1個付いている箇所が修正後(「+」そのものは含まれません)です。

見たところ、2つのファイルの2カ所(3行)の先頭に「#」を挿入して、Pythonのコメントにする(そのコードが実行されないようにする)だけなので、手作業でもすぐ終わりますね。

init.pyのコードには
import cyvlfeat.sift
の記載はあったのですが、setup.pyには

上記のコードが見つからず困っています

そりゃあ、Qiitaの記事は3年前のものなので、その後のバージョンアップで変更されたのではないですかね。
GitHubのリポジトリでsetup.pyを見てみましたが、105行目あたりの、

build_extension_from_pyx('cyvlfeat/sift/cysift.pyx'),

を、先頭に「#」を付けてコメントにすればいけそう。
