Ruby on Rails minitestの導入

Question

rails6上でminitestの導入がしたいのですが、導入後$ rails testを実行するとエラーが発生してしまいます。

Gemfile (のtest環境部分)に以下を記述すればどうでしょうか。

gem 'minitest-reporters', '~> 1.1', '>= 1.1.11'

背景

件のコード中では、Gem minitest-reportersの機能が使われています。これは、デフォルトの minitest を拡張するGemです。引用すると、

Extend Minitest through simple hooks.

とある通りです。言い換えれば、reportersの機能を使うためにはデフォルトのminitestがインストールされているだけでは、不十分です。このGemをGemfile中に陽に記述する必要があります。

一つ質問なのですが、なぜminitest5.14.4ではエラーを引き起こし、上記コードでは動くのでしょうか？
