mongoDBでdbpath設定を実行後 表示が続かない。これはエラー？

環境
Windows10 pro
MongoDB Community version: 4.4.3

・インストーラーからWindows版をインストール
特段ウィザード上での変更は行っていません
・Windows再起動
・dbpathを設定するため以下をPowershellで入力実行
mongo --dbpath E:\mongodb\data　　（パスは仮）

（訂正）mongod --dbpath E:\mongodb\data
この質問文の記述が間違っていました。訂正させていただきます。

ここから先は表示せず、止まっているような状態

これがエラーなのか、単に処理中で時間がかかっているだけなのかが分かりません。

エラーなら再インストールする、環境設定をし直すなど調べるのですが、エラーらしきものが見当たらず、ここで止めていいのか否かも分かりません。

よくミドルを動かしている間はコマンドプロンプト表示させたままにする必要があったりするものがありますが、それと同等なのでしょうか？

質問をまとめると・・・
１．上記の状態はエラーであるのか？
２．エラーならどう対処すれば正常になるのか

mongoコマンドに--dbpathオプションなどありましたか？

D:\>mongo --dbpath D:\Users\owner\Documents\mongodb\db

こちらの質問文で誤記をしていました。申し訳ございません。
mongod --dbpath E:\mongodb\data　と入力をして本文にある内容の表示で止まっていた、ということです。
