mysqlでソケットファイルが作れない

Question

mysqlでソケットファイルエラーが出ています。

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

やったこと

・ソケットファイル作成
→すぐ消えてしまう

・mysqlの再インストール

・ソケットファイル作成

MySQLが正常に起動していれば、ソケットファイルは自動的に生成されます。

そもそもMySQLは動いているのでしょうか？

このような状態です。

~ $ mysql.server strat
Starting MySQL
.. ERROR! The server quit without updating PID file (/usr/local/var/mysql/マシン名.local.pid).

サーバースタートさせようにもPIDファイルがないとでるので、該当箇所にPIDファイルを作りましたがこちらも勝手に消えてしまします。

サーバーを動かすにはどうしたらいいでしょうか？

sud ls -lR /usr/local/var/mysql
ls -l /usr/local/var
の結果見せてください
