php artisan migrateが実行できない件について

前提・実現したいこと????

PHP(Laravel)でhttps://qiita.com/Fendo181/items/dece727ea402552fee19#link%E3%83%A2%E3%83%87%E3%83%AB%E3%82%92%E4%BD%9C%E6%88%90%E3%81%99%E3%82%8Bを参考にプロジェクトを作っています。
php artisan migrateを実行後に以下のエラーメッセージが発生しました。

試したこと

mysqlにてパスワードをセット。？
.envとdatabase.phpの見比べ、見直し。
不安なため、権限付きユーザーを複数登録。

補足情報（FW/ツールのバージョンなど）

.envに記入していたと思っていたが、実は記入していたのは.env.exampleでした。
https://note.com/kawa1228/n/n4ab34e8f63fb
のノートより、過ち判明。
finderより対象プロジェクト下まで移動し、「command + shift + .」を実行。
ようやく本来設定を記入、編集するべき.envを発見。
情報を編集しphp artisan migrate実行。
無事作成され解決しました。

私の使っている、vscode上には、.envのファイルが表示されていませんでした。
なぜかは分かりません。知っている人がいたら教えてください。
