byebugをインストールしたいのですができませんでした。

Question

byebugを使って、デバックをしたいのですがbyebugをインストールするところでつまづいています。

ググってもわからないため、解決方法を提案していただきたいです。

一応確認ですが、rubyを単独で実行したいのではなくて、Railsアプリを実行するつもりですよね？

現在rubyを勉強していまして、「プロを目指す人のためのRuby入門」という書籍を使って勉強している際にbyebugを使う項目がありそこでつまずいている状態です。
なので、今はrubyで実行できればいいかなと思っています。

$ gem install byebug　も行ったんですが、Permission denied が出たのでsudoをつけて行ってみました。

Rubyのインストールの状況がおかしい可能性があります。
具体的にはシステムにグローバルで入っているRubyとユーザグローバルに入っているRubyが混在している可能性です。

sudo はむやみにつけると取り返しのつかないことになります。
めったなことではつけるものではありません。
