vimのterminalモードにできない

Question

このサイトにあるように:terminalでterminalモードをはじめたいのですが、vimで:terminalと入力すると

E492: Not an editor command: terminal

と表示されます。なにが原因でしょうか。環境はUbuntu Mateです。

コマンドライン上で vim --version と入力したときの出力は下のようになっています。

ありがとうございます。vim --versionを入力したときの出力について書き入れました。

:terminalはvim version 8(8.0.0693)で実装されましたので、利用されているバージョンでは使用できません。

Problem: No terminal emulator support. Cannot properly run commands in the
GUI. Cannot run a job interactively with an ssh connection.
Solution: Very early implementation of the :terminal command. Includes
libvterm converted to ANSI C. Many parts still missing.
